I never did. I am glad that I can say, that even though it would have been a good time in my life to make extra money ripping off tourists, I chose not to, because I have to go to sleep with myself, and I am picky about who I sleep with.

Comment on I HATE CAB DRIVING

Yes, Tom, I understand and feel your pain. I quit a year ago at this time for that very reason. Unless I am mistaken, there are still as many regular medallions and weekend medallions on the road right now as there were during the best times and highest visitor counts and hotel occupancy that Las Vegas ever saw a few years ago. And, the reason that they approved the medallions that are out there right now was because there were so many construction projects on the way - half of which got scrapped.

Of course, you can rip off customers by taking the long way, or be a pimp to make the money to pay your mortgage and feed your family. I guess that is what the Nevada Taxicab Authority wants Las Vegas cabbies to do.

Comment on Avoid Being Long-Hauled By A Taxi Driver In Las Vegas

Thanks for commenting on my blog post. I like when strangers stumble across it. I really enjoy your posts here--very entertaining and thoughtful.

The nicest stranger I met in my four days in Vegas was the taxi driver who took me from the airport to the hotel. He was friendly and kind to me and my daughter. I didn't get his name, but he was a jazz bassist with a couple of regular gigs and he was from Buffalo originally.

Comment on Letter to Obama from Las Vegas Taxi Driver

I have responded to your comment.
